5000 Android Apps

Google's Android Market now offers more than 4900 applications for smartphones powered by Android mobile operating system, according to Vice President giant Web services engineering Vic Gundotra.

Speaking Wednesday at developer event I/O annual Google in San Francisco, Gundotra said Android users fell from an average of more than 40 applications per user, adding that second Android smartphones are now in the USA in mobile web browsing, behind the Apple iPhone.

5000 apps is a very good number. We (Movaya) is about to launch our first premium market Android app next week so we'll see how it goes.
