EA and report of Glu Mobile Sales Game results

Two of the biggest mobile games developers in the world, Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Glu Mobile (NASDAQ: GLUU) announced quarterly results this week.

While EA global business continues to fight, mobile was one bright spot with the communications company that their mobile revenue grew 24% year over year to $ 189 million. The fiscal fourth quarter, EA Mobile recorded $ 48 million in revenue, up 14% year on year.

Glu reported revenues of $ 20.8 million compared to $ 20.6 million in the first quarter of 2008, which represents less than one year increased by 1% over the year.

If I were a shareholder Glu would be quite disappointed with the results of Glu. Although EA is a large company, the mobile games business is growing rapidly (see post soon) and Glu should be growing at a pace similar to EA.

If you read the full press release from Glu and if you're following the company last year, a lot of their lack of growth is due to the fact that Glu was very late to the party iPhone. they started to ramp up lately with a number of high-quality releases on this platform, including the title of Glyder very fun, but of course I still have much work to do to start your business to take off more.

EA, on the other hand, was early for the iPhone a their games have done very well. Just in recent weeks pair, EA announced five new titles of iPhone and executives said they expect the introduction of 30 games for the iPhone this year.
