Interesting iPhone data from Nielsen

Consumer research firm, The Nielsen Company, released some interesting data about the iPhone this week. The study found:

-From April 2009 there are iPhone users active 6.4 million in the USA, until 2.1 million a year earlier.

-37% watch video on your phone (6 x as likely as the typical Subscriber).

-There are more or less how many iPhone users 55 and older as there are 13-24.(See chart)

-98% of iPhone users use the capabilities of your phone's data, services that should improve with the promised speed enhanced by the iPhone 3 g s.

-88% use the Internet (4 x as likely as the typical Subscriber).

-download 75% apps (5 x as likely as the typical Subscriber).

-72% use location based services (7 x as likely as the typical Subscriber).

None of these data is extremely surprising, but this is good news for all of us mobile data market as more and more consumers will be buying iPhones (and other smartphones) use as general applications, mcommerce, mobile Web, etc. is about to explode.
